Research Interests
Broadly, I am interested in developing technological tools for improving the functionality and quality of life of individuals who are impacted by neurological illnesses. Individuals with conditions such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Locked-In Syndrome, and brainstem strokes develop speech impairments that make communication and self-expression increasingly difficult. My research involves using magnetoencephalography (MEG), language models, and deep learning models to reconstruct speech from thoughts, which will allow those with speech impairments to communicate more freely.
